My beautiful something

I took this photo at an exhibition of flowers and plants about three month ago. Again it amazed me how people can make things so naturally beautiful. The tree was so small, so delicate but yet with all those roots and branches, it looked so ancient. The shape of the tree made me think of a tree fairy so fine and delicate that she had to use her long hair and long sleeve to hide away her face. It sounds so fancy but that's what makes me love about this tree and all the bonsai trees in general. They amaze you and make you imagine all kind of things possible.

A great piece of architecture

This is Fallingwater - one of my most favorite buildings, by architect Frank Lloyd Wright in 1935. It is such a unique and beautiful house that have ever been made. This is the photo I got from  http://www.galenfrysinger.com/ of the house in autumn. The house blended so perfectly, harmoniously and naturally with its surrounding. The house is not at all swallowed by the nature (it stands on top of a fall !) and it doesn't dominate the nature either (gray stone, cream walls, brown windows,...) Not to mention the fact that it was hugely difficult to build such a house in those days, I think it is so amazing that people can create something  that can coexist so beautifully with nature.

My painting

This is my first water painting. I did it when I was in high school. The thing I like about it is that when I first started it, I didn't like it very much because I didn't like building itself. It was just a small and simple hospital. I wanted something grander for my first water painting. But, when I had to look at it more closely, I started to notice more interesting things like how the sun cast shadow on the walls, the columns; how the light, the colors were different on each side of the hospital; how each tree was different from the others;the shadow of the trees on the road; the dark corners and the white walls;... And when I could express some of the things I saw on the paper, my whole view about the hospital changed too. I liked my work and I liked the building too.
